Exchange and grenades

Exchange and grenades (6.80)

«ceh9»

Each team has to have a good strategic training if they count on winning tournaments. Strategic training is not just a set of good tactics for each map, but also a clear understanding of when and how you need to act after an exchange. You can easily learn ready made tactics from professional players’ VODs, however each team does their own preparation to different game situations. In this article I will bring up the most important aspects of tactical training: the exchange and grenades.

Exchange and grenades as the basis of tactics.

Exchange

All Counter-Strike can be figuratively divided into two parts: the attack and defense. And this does not mean that we are talking about terrorist and counter-terrorist, because after the bomb installation the teams swap roles and the "good" guys become the provisional attackers.

By exchange I mean your teammates' readiness to instantly take revenge for you even if you won't succeed to come out and kill the opponent. In an ideal situation, of course, every player has to come out and kill, but at the professional level it's just impossible to do that.

Strategies are usually built from the use of grenades, but what do you do if you ran out of them? What if it's a situation of "3 vs 3", and you have to take offensive action? This is where exchange comes into force; you go to the intended enemy's location and try to start shooting at him at the same time with a teammate.

A few rules of the proper exchange organization:

  • Try not to go too close to each other because you really don't need to die from a single burst.
  • Don't go too far from each other: don't let the enemy deal with your teammate and not having noticed you.
  • The first one has to jump out if:
  1. There is little space for maneuver and the chances of being killed in a row are high.
  2. You have more players and 1 vs 1 exchange will only strengthen your advantage.
  3. There is presumably an AWP against you.
  4. There are two of you and one of you has AWP. A sniper is the one who jumps out, by the way.

 Grenades

ИUse grenades to gain advantage over an opponent. Here are some tips regarding each of the grenades:

  • HE-grenade
  1. Throw it somewhere where supposedly the enemy can be and come out under the same grenade. It really confuses the opponent.
  2. If you know for sure where the enemy is hiding, throw there a few HEs at once, don't let him change the position.

  • Flashbang
  1. If you can throw an instant flash, then throw it (see articles about grenades if you don't know what that is).
  2. Before you come out, throw a flash that kind of way so that during your meeting with the enemy it exploded behind you and the opponent would see that.
  3. Don't throw a grenade if you think the enemy is not expecting you.

  • Smoke Grenade
  1. Disorient your opponent: throw a smoke as you would throw a flash grenade, and come out before opponent.
  2. Use a smoke grenade only if you're 100% sure that it will give you an advantage. Because if you won't guess the enemy's location, it can play into his hands.

A good example of teamplay when throwing grenades.
